"I just wanted to write to let you know how much I enjoyed this
year's Pool School in Paradise. What fun! I would like to
report that I immediately went home and won the weekly handicapped
9-ball tournament, but no such luck. I did manage to beat the best
player in the club (much to his surprise), before dropping a match
to a player who decided not to miss at all that night. Oh well! I am incredibly impressed with the teaching ability that you,
Allison, Gerda and Mike have. There are few if any players who
combine both the knowledge of the game and the ability to
communicate that the four of you have. I came home with a lot of
things to work on, including some really good practice drills and
a couple totally new concepts. Your approach to the break shot and
the "mini-stroke" are both worth the price of admission." Al
Metzinger, New York
"Thank you
for a wonderful and very informative 5 days of pool school. I now
have the proper knowledge to greatly improve my game. Knowing the
flaws in my game and how to fix them is priceless information.
You, Allison, Gerda and Mike seemed to enjoy teaching us as much
as we enjoyed the learning process. The school had the right mix
of class room and actual table instruction. Having the opportunity
to socialize with the pros each night at dinner was a big added
plus. Thanks again for this great experience. Thanks
again for a really great week. I am enclosing a deposit on next
year's school, where ever it is held, I will certainly try to be
there." Jerry

"Thank you
for "Pool School in Paradise". I can't tell you how much
I enjoyed it, and I am certain what I learned will help me to
develop an immensely improved game. The sheer volume of solid
information, advice and tips was really more than I could process
while there, but (as you said) it will provide material to act on
and practice for many months/years to come. Even more valuable was
the chance to peek into the mind of the top players and see some
of the strategy, preparation, and attitude it takes to win and,
more importantly, to improve. There are lessons here to be applied
to much more than just pool. I especially want to thank you and
your volunteers for a yeoman effort to make this an exceptional
week in Vancouver. The extent to which you and the other players
went to make yourselves freely available was much more than I ever
expected and FAR beyond the normal call of duty. You all (y'all)
made this week a truly unforgettable experience! I hope to see you
again next year." Russ
Godwin, Utah "Just
a note to thank you, Allison, Gerda and Mike for the very
enjoyable time I spent at PSIP. All of you were so friendly and
hospitable. I will treasure the experience forever. I have had
limited opportunities to practice the drills and lessons, but the
confidence I gained from attending the school has already managed
to lift my game to another level. I find myself having longer runs
and playing much "tougher" against players that used to
outplay me. I look forward to the winter pool season so that I can
hone the lessons I learned." Dennis
Moquin, MA "Paul,
just a short note to tell you once again how much I enjoyed PSIP
2002. I was certainly better equipped this year to reinforce the
lessons learned at PSIP 2001, absorb some of the lessons
previously learned and eliminate some more bad habits. You,
Allison, Mike and Gerda have given me valuable insight into the
game and I know the rest is up to me. Practice, practice,
practice!! As always, it's a pleasure to spend time and share
stories with such a classy group of people. Your passion for
teaching is only surpassed by your love for the game and your
generous hospitality. Long live the PSIP family!! Ken and Christy Morano,
Washington "The school was great! We both thank you for making it possible for us to have this opportunity.
It was a dream come true. (We're still pinching ourselves!) All of you were excellent, and make a great team! We hope to see all of you...next year. Ken and I both want to come next year. Words can't say how much this
experience has meant to us. Thanks! It was great working with you. Thanks for all your help, and for sharing your incredible skills with us." Cliff
Creasy, Arkansas "Penny
and I are back home and business as usual. We wish pool school had
another week to go. Did not want to leave. Vancouver is a
beautiful city. Enjoyed the school as much as I thought I
would,,,,,,,, and more. Penny enjoyed the experience even more
than she thought she would. You, Gerda,
Mike and Allison were great and truly knowledgeable and so
helpful. You guys made us feel at ease, and at home. Pool School
In Paradise is a class operation. I think you are building
something very special. Mark was a very important part of this
and, I believe, added to the success and class of the school. All
my fellow students were great individuals also. I now understand
why there are so many repeats.
I learned even more than I can comprehend about pool. Hopefully, I
can put this new information to good use and become a better pool
player. I know practice is more important than ever and your
advise to get to the practice table as soon as possible is well
taken and will be followed.
As you can see, we were very impressed with the school, the
itinerary and the city. Thanks again for all your help. This past
week was appreciated as a dream come true. I am so proud I was
able to
be there for the experience."
